Is your furniture new or old?

The furniture sold at House of Møbel is original mid 20th century design dated mainly in the 1960s and 1970s. We source the furniture in Scandinavia, mainly Denmark and Sweden from a variety of different sources. As well as our mid century pieces, we offer a selection of contemporary homewares and lifestyle products by brands we admire. 

Are you able to sell my piece of furniture for me? 

No, I am afraid not. The chances are, the piece you have in not of a Scandinavian origin and we are keen to stay loyal to our vendors in Denmark and Sweden.  

What care products do you recommend for the furniture?

For teak and rosewood pieces we recommend using either Rustins Danish Oil or boiled linseed oil applied with a clean lint-free cloth. With beech and oak pieces we recommend using osmo oil. For more regular cleaning, we recommend Lord Sheraton furniture polish or Mr Sheen. 

Do you offer a furniture sourcing service?

Yes, absolutely. We love working directly with customers to source specific pieces that are on their wish list. Please send your request to hello@houseofmobel.com and include as much information as possible and your budget. Any visuals are also helpful.  

Do you hire out your furniture for photo shoots, events etc.?

Yes, we do hire out selected pieces for these sorts of requirements. We simply charge 10% of the retail price per day and like to be credited if possible. 

Do you deliver?

Yes we do. Small items and accessories (ceramics, glassware, lifestyle goods etc.) are all shipped using Royal mail or DPD. This cost is calculated and added at checkout.

Furniture delivery cost is added as a flat rate at checkout and varies according to the customer’s delivery address. Delivery within the local area (Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire) will cost £32. Delivery within Mainland UK will cost £58. Once delivery is booked in we will be in touch to make the customer aware of their estimated delivery date and time. 

For shipping to Europe and the ‘Rest of the World’, please contact us for a quote. 

What is your refund policy?

We do not offer refunds on items bought in store. If the item is returned within 14 days of the original purchase we will reimburse the customer with store credit of the same amount, which can be used within 1 year. The cost of returning the item to House of Møbel is covered by the customer. Please note, if the item in question has had custom reupholstery, it is non-refundable.

Items bought online come with a standard 14 day ‘cooling off’ period whereby the customer is entitled to a full refund (excluding delivery charges) so long as the item is returned in the same condition.
